After months of hard work, we are excited to announce the release of Ballerina 2201.0.0 (Swan Lake). Since the Beta1 release in June 2021, we have closely engaged with our community by gathering valuable feedback to help us add and enrich various capabilities towards GA.

Most of our efforts in the lead up to GA focused on fixing bugs, making multiple usability improvements, and refining documentation. Likewise, the GA release also contains additional upgrades that are expected to improve how Ballerina feels in practice. You can read our full release announcement here.

Website Updates

The new Ballerina in Action section on the Ballerina home page includes a set of working Ballerina samples, with some of them showcasing the graphical aspect of the language. These ready-to-run samples have been included to highlight some core strengths of the language.

The revamped Learn page on our website includes practical guides, examples, and other useful resources to help you get started with your journey with Ballerina. Click here to start learning today!

We’re also pleased to introduce our updated Community page, which highlights a number of ways you can get involved and contribute towards making Ballerina better. Be sure to browse through our resources, check out our upcoming events and be a part of our community stories by telling us how you use Ballerina.

Webinar: Introducing Ballerina Swan Lake 2201.0.0

Sameera Jayasoma, Head of Architecture at Ballerina, will take you through some of the new and improved features made available with Swan Lake GA. This will include a walkthrough of all major features and a demo of the code.

Our first meetup for the year took place on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 and was hosted by the CodeSeeker’s Endless Programming Languages meetup group. Associate Director/Architect at WSO2, Hasitha Aravinda, presented an introduction to the Ballerina language and explained how it's applied within cloud technology. Missed it?
